Franco Rossi: You could use wget to recursively retrieve the archives... Dec. 1, 2009, 6:38pm B.L. Ochman: Witty sign from the research department - but a sad commentary on Bloomberg that they wouldn't be keeping them on. Nov. 24, 2009, 2:15pm Will Knott: First thing first. The archives are in a big database somewhere. If you were using some sort of CMS, then its possible that the text of the archives have an automatic backup routine. For your own blog there should be something in the Typepad tool set. Use that to make 2 copies and put them on separate removable sources (hard disk etc) and if you have the option e-mail it somewhere else too. Text only tends to be rather small, archiving images will take longer. You may have to ask techs (if there are any) for help. You may have to get a hard disk backup rather than a database backup, but if its in the machine, and not corrupted, there should be some way t get it out. Nov. 24, 2009, 9:06am steve baker: Thanks Max. I agree, but am happy to hear it from you. Nov. 23, 2009, 6:19pm Max Kalehoff: Steve, you should blog in one place: thenumerati.com. Blogspotting is a bygone era. You should focus in one place, and do a great job there. As a follower of your writings, I hated having to toggle between Blogspotting and Numerati. Make one place your hub, and syndicate and promote via whichever spokes you deem necessary. Nov. 23, 2009, 9:08am |
