/C*H1) : Great post full of useful tips! My site is fairly new and I am also having a hard time getting my readers to leave comments. Analytics shows they are coming to the site but I have a feeling nobody wants to be first.  Jan. 12, 2017, 2:49am

plagiarism check: Reproducing the thoughts and languages of another writer without acquiring the rights from the owner is a clear instance of plagiarism. It is the same as representing the work of another as your own without authorization. Though not a crime per se, it is considered an instance of dishonesty in academia, and piracy in the journalistic domain.  Dec. 9, 2016, 3:08am

Keith Crosley: Steve, I don't think you're jaded. Enterprises *do* have to monitor outbound communications precisely for the compliance reasons (e.g., HIPAA, GLBA, PCI) you note. I publish research on this topic every year (Proofpoint's "Outbound Email and Data Loss Prevention in Today's Enterprise" report, available at http://www.proofpoint.com/outbound) and cover related topics frequently in our blog. Some of this year's findings: * More than one third (34%) of US companies surveyed say their business was impacted by the exposure of sensitive or embarrassing information in the last 12 months. One third (33%) said they had been impacted by improper exposure or theft of customer information. 28% said they had been impacted by the improper exposure or theft of intellectual property. * 43% of US companies investigated a suspected email leak of confidential or proprietary information in the past 12 months. * 34% investigated a suspected violation of privacy or data protection regulations in the past 12 months. * 48% of US companies with 20,000 or more employees surveyed employ staff to read or otherwise analyze the contents of outbound email. DM me on twitter (@Proofpoint_Inc) or email me and I'll happily send you a copy of our 2009 edition directly. Best Regards, Keith  Dec. 16, 2009, 2:22pm
